![]() ![]() Scripted declaration of war by a third party when your two main enemies are on a second continent.Paradox Interactive and Triumph Studios have announced a new numbered sequel in the Age of Wonders series - the first for nine years.Īge of Wonders 4 will launch for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 2nd May this year, and revive the franchise's strategy empire-building and tactical combat. So i literally had my home city taken by a surprise attack when I was 2 sectors away from it, but couldn't get there.Īnd this was in the campagin btw (2nd or third Dvar one). And then another empire declared war and managed to get two armies to my main city before I could get home as it took me 4 turns (4!) to cross the water as the auto-move ended up taking 2 turns in the water itself - and the crossing was in my own sector. What really set me off was that I had my main army across a small straight from my home city, engaging an enemy. What is the point of capping the water sectors now? Zero reason to do so as the land sectors have way more depth and options for growth. Like they have dedicated transport fleets or a bridge or something. ![]() The water sectors should be passable like land once they have an outpost or sector on them. And in this game, you have so few units, that making a dedicated fleet likely makes no sense. The whole way crossing water is treated is more cumbersome than so many other games of the genre. I agree with the OP, future civilizations with friggen space travel shouldn't have to spend a turn getting their boats out. You know you can generate random maps without any water, don't you? Having water as an obstacle and unique terrain type doesn't mean you should have to spend a turn to both embark and disembark on it.
